Thermoforming
The advantages of thermoforming are clear
Seaborne Plastics are acknowledged experts in thermoforming and its various methods, for a number of years we have taken pride in remaining unchallenged on the statement 'Anything that can be produced from a flat sheet via a thermoforming process Seaborne Plastics can do it'.
The flexibility of thermoforming is beyond debate as are cost effectiveness and speed of production. Prototypes can be produced quickly and accurately ahead of transfer to full production and results are clearly superior even when complicated designs are required. For fast set-up and production of plastic parts, especially large parts in quantities from 500 to several thousand, thermoforming is commonly selected over injection moulding; tooling costs can be 90 percent lower and parts can be completed two to three times more quickly.
Vacuum forming and pressure moulding both evacuate the sealed air space between the heated plastic and mould; pressure forming adds air pressure above the heated sheet to achieve a higher quality finish (sharp edges, undercuts, and other close tolerance details).
We are an environmentally aware company, recycling where possible and reducing waste through accurate production methods and carefully considered manufacturing.
Vacuum Forming
Geiss machinery continues to set the standard in vacuum forming technology and Seaborne Plastics have invested heavily in the finest available equipment. When operated by highly skilled and dedicated engineers these machines produce quality and reliability as standard
Pressure Moulding
Radical shapes, undercuts and surface texture in a wide range of materials give a finish not traditionally associated with thermoforming. Seaborne Plastics have been responsible for changing this attitude and regularly produce results that other manufacturers are unable to match.
Drape Forming
A process often used where simple curved shapes are required, bus shelters, riot shields and signage are all produced using this method.
Other processes included in the Seaborne portfolio include Free Blown Moulding, Press Moulding and Line Bending.
